Japanese shape with hamon
Blade material: mono steel S90
Handle material: desert ironwood, red brass, ebony.
Heat treated using the clay method.
The blade is forged S90 mono steel. Heat treated using the claying method used on Japanese swords, resulting the decorative cloud-like hamon.
The blade is very hard 60+ Hrc at the edge, and soft at the spine 35-Hrc , making the blade less vulnerable yet with an excellent cutting edge.
It has a perfectly straight edge (from spine to edge), recommended for delicate, precise kitchen tasks.
The handle is a combination of copper, ebony and desert ironwood. Finely rounded with an 8-angled cross section for a comfortable grip.
Hidden tang knife, the tang running through the grip and fixed at the end. The knife comes with a leather storage sheath.
The handle is not waterproof, the blade is not rustproof, it requires care and attention from its owner - like real things in life - if you give it to him, it will be a pleasure to work with, an excellent help in the kitchen.
